Ministries and Auxiliaries

DEACONS

The Deacons of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church have a mission to serve the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through faithful service to the body of Baptized Believers by supporting the Pastor in the spread of the Gospel; thus, by assisting with daily operations of the Church for the edification of its members through addressing needs and promoting harmony within the fellowship.  The Deacons of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church are called to be humble servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by recognizing the pastor as “the under Shephard” called to do God’s will and assisting him by providing for the spiritual and temporal well-being of its members.

MOTHERBOARD

The Mother Board Ministry of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church has a ‘spiritual’ mission to help build every ministry of the church spiritually according to the word of God. We are to be an example of being faithful, devoted and committed to the prosperity and well being of the church. Our spiritual roots are found in:

Timothy 5:1-4 (KJV)

(1) Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father, and the younger men as bretheren (2) The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. (3) Honor widows that are widows indeed (4) But if any women have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

Titus 2:1-5 (KJV)

(1) But speak thou the things which becomes sound doctrine: (2) That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. (3) The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; (4) That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands to love their children, (5) To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home obedient to their own husbands that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The Objective of the Mother Board is:

To promote the cause of Jesus Christ and to teach the younger women of the church according to the Scriptures.

MUSIC

Music is a universal language of the human soul. The Old and New Testament scriptures tell us about the use of voice and musical instruments. Music should express to God praise, prayer, and gratitude. It should promote a spirit of devotion and worship, teaching and preserving divine truth which points the unsaved to God. It is the vision of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Music Ministry to provide a well-balanced church music program edifying worship and having empowerment from the Holy Spirit. It is our ultimate goal that our Choirs and Musicians attract individuals to seek knowledge of Jesus Christ and lead them to commit themselves to a spirit filled Christian life.

The Male Chorus of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church originated in 1888 under the pastoral guidance of Reverend S. M. Jackson; at that time the male chorus was called the Brotherhood Choir. In 1936, Macedonia had their first Annual Men’s Day. The Lord continued to bless the Brotherhood and they later started a group called the Daniel Glass Singers led by Minister of Music, Brother Daniel Glass. The tradition of the Macedonia Male Chorus is still alive through R.O.C. Reflections of Christ-who continue to sing praises of Zion for the Lord.
