Where Are Your Priorities?

Haggai, the prophet, spoke to the Israelites who were returning to Judah following their Babylonian captivity. King Darius, after defeating Nebuchadnezzar, issued a decree that the Jews were to return to their homeland and rebuild the Temple. They built an altar and laid the foundation but allowed the building to stop after encountering opposition and discouragement. Yet, they did not neglect the building of their own homes. This displeased God. He raised and gave Haggai a message to bring the Israelites back to their first priority-obedience to God.
